The company was founded by Jefferson Mitchell, a U.S. Air Force turned Space Force officer and now veteran to support government, commercial, academic, and venture partners. Jefferson's credentials include an MBA, PMP, Certified Innovation Coach, Certified Space Professional, DoD Executive Leadership Development Fellow, and Harvard Kennedy School Master of Public Admin Candidate.

Mitchell Space Solutions leverages Jefferson's acquired experiences and broad network from his time championing national security programs across three Space Force field commands, U.S. Space Command, two intelligence community agencies, the MIT AI Accelerator, MIT Lincoln Lab space liaison, and DoD Executive Leadership Development Program. He founded the the Space Force Association New England chapter and the Northeast Space Economic Coalition, and served two years as chair of the Northeast Space Defense & Innovation Summit. Jeff is currently at the Harvard Kennedy School pursuing a Masters of Public Administration with a focus on space private-public capital partnerships.
